Membership
The Ladies' Section is a very active and sociable part of Henbury Golf Club, with 150 playing members ranging from junior girls to ladies in their 90's and from single figure handicap golfers to complete beginners.
Achievements
2011 was a successful year for the Ladies' Section in Gloucestershire County golf. Sue Elliott, Jan Pickersgill, Louise Church and Ann Manley won the Gloucestershire County Team Championship Gross Cup. Ann Manley won the Lady Marling Silver Cup and Silver Coronation Medal and Jan Pickersgill won the Seniors' Championship. Louise Church won the Prettejohn Nett Cup at the County Championships and we also won four prizes at the Fraser Fours at Stinchcombe Golf Club. Well done ladies.
Working Women
Our working women are a really important part of the Ladies' Section and represent nearly a third of our numbers. We run Weekend Medals and regular Saturday roll-ups. The Club Championship and some of our Cup Competitions, together with an increasing number of the Bristol & District Lady Golfers' Alliance ( BDLGA) team matches, are also played at weekends.
Fun and Friendly
Not all our golf is serious! During the year we hold fun competitions, away days, invitation days, open competitions and friendly team matches against other clubs in the area.
Mixed Golf
Mixed golf is also an important aspect of Henbury Golf Club and events are always well supported, including cup competitions, knock-outs and Bank Holiday fun golf. A partner can always be found if you don't have one!
